The short answer

Can Hermes Agent manage your social media?

Yes, through an MCP server.

Hermes Agent does not post to social media on its own. Antwork is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server you add with one command. You connect each account once on that platform's own login screen, and from then on Hermes Agent drafts, schedules and publishes to LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest from where you already work, through each platform's official API.

  • 8 platforms, one connectorEvery account you connect is there in the same chat.
  • One idea, a post per accountEach version is written for its platform and that account's voice.
  • You approve every postDrafting and publishing are separate steps. Nothing goes out until you say so.
Set it up

Connect Hermes Agent in 3 steps

A couple of minutes, in Hermes Agent.

One command
$ hermes mcp add antwork --url https://api.antwork.io/mcp --auth oauth
  1. 1Step 1 of 3
Approve in the browserThe first time Hermes connects, it opens your browser when it can and waits for the OAuth callback on a local port. Approve Antwork's consent screen and the connection is live.
  2. 2Step 2 of 3
Connect the social accountAsk Hermes to connect your account and it gives you a connect link per platform. Authorize once and Antwork holds and refreshes that token for you.
  3. 3Step 3 of 3
If the browser did not openOr if the authorization expired, run hermes mcp login antwork from a fresh terminal. It runs the same OAuth flow again, outside any Hermes session.

Questions

Hermes Agent and social media, answered

Can Hermes Agent post to social media?
Yes, through Antwork. Hermes Agent publishes to LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest from the same place, each account connected once over that platform's own login. Drafting and publishing are separate steps, so nothing goes out until you say so.
Do I need an API key?
No. Hermes registers itself with Antwork and you sign in on Antwork's own consent page. Hermes keeps the token in ~/.hermes/mcp-tokens/, and you can revoke the connection any time from Settings, then Connected apps, in Antwork.
Can I add it in config.yaml instead?
Yes. Under mcp_servers, add an entry named antwork with url: "https://api.antwork.io/mcp" and auth: oauth, then run /reload-mcp or start a new session. If you edit the config from inside a running session, the reload has a 30-second timeout that can be too short for OAuth; run hermes mcp login antwork from a fresh terminal instead.
How do I check it is connected?
Run hermes mcp test antwork to test the connection, or hermes mcp list to see every MCP server Hermes has configured.
Will Hermes post anything without asking me?
Drafting never publishes. Antwork's tools save drafts as drafts, and scheduling or publishing is a separate, explicit step you ask for.
