Automate Threads with Claude

Threads carries twice as much media in a single post as anything else here, on one of the tightest text limits.

One value to paste
https://api.antwork.io/mcp

Claude connects to Antwork as a custom connector: one URL pasted into the Add custom connector dialog, then a browser authorization. The same connector works in Claude Desktop once you are signed in.

Custom connectors need Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.

Connect it

01Open the connector dialogClaude opens its Add custom connector dialog with the MCP URL already on your clipboard, so there is nothing to retype.
02Name it and paste the URLSet the name to antwork, paste the URL into Remote MCP server URL, leave Advanced settings empty, and click Add.
03Authorize, then connect the social accountApproving the OAuth screen makes the connection live. Ask Claude to connect your account and it renders a panel with a button per platform.

What you can say once Threads is connected

Draft a Threads post introducing this set of screenshots, short, in my voice.
Take the Instagram caption I just approved and rework it for Threads.
Post this to Threads and schedule the same media for Instagram an hour later.
What did my last few Threads posts do?

You see it before it goes out

Antwork does not answer with a wall of text. It renders real, clickable panels inside Claude — the same interface you would get in a dashboard, in the conversation you are already in. No other social tool does this.

  • 01A post card with the draft, editable in place, with the publish and schedule buttons on it
  • 02A month calendar of everything scheduled across every connected account
  • 03Your media library as a thumbnail grid you can attach from
  • 04A connections panel with a Connect button per platform
  • 05A table of recent posts you can click into

Shipped something small this week that fixed a big thing. Our token refresh ran daily but checked Threads against a five minute expiry window, so it could only ever catch a token that happened to die inside those five minutes. It never did. Accounts just went quiet.

What is different about Threads

Only here

Twenty items in one post

Twenty images or videos, mixed however you like. Nothing else Antwork posts to comes close; the next highest stops at ten, and most stop at one.

Only here

The text is the caption, not the post

Five hundred characters is the second tightest limit here. The agent drafts to it instead of writing long and trimming, because on Threads the media carries the post and the text introduces it.

Only here

The largest payload Antwork will build

Each video can run five minutes at 1 GB, and there can be twenty of them. No other post this platform builds can be that big.

Only here

The same shapes Instagram takes

Video ratios are 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, matching Instagram exactly. A cut made for one reposts to the other without recutting, which is the usual reason to run them as a pair.

Posts are capped at 500 characters, and the cap is enforced when you schedule or publish, not silently truncated.

Questions

Do I need an API key to connect Claude?
No. Antwork connects over OAuth — you approve a consent screen in the browser and you are done. There is no key to generate or paste into a URL, which is how most social MCP servers handle it.
Do I need a paid account?
No. The free tier covers one workspace, two connected accounts and 20 posts per cycle, and there is no plan gate on MCP access.
Will Claude post without showing me first?
Not unless you ask it to. Drafting and publishing are two separate steps: the agent writes, renders the post card, and only publishes when you confirm.
Does the writing sound like AI?
Antwork learns a voice profile per connected account by reading what you have already published there, and the agent drafts from that profile. On Threads that includes writing to the length the format rewards, up to 500 characters.

Never leave Claude to post again.

One command, one consent screen, and Threads is something you can just ask for.
