Can Claude Code post to Instagram?

Yes, through a connector.

Claude Code can post to Instagram through Antwork, a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Run claude mcp add antwork --transport http https://api.antwork.io/mcp, type /mcp in Claude Code to approve Antwork in the browser, then ask Claude Code to connect Instagram and approve it once on Instagram's own login screen with a professional account (Business or Creator). From then on Claude Code captions, schedules and publishes posts, carousels and Reels, attaching images or video straight from files on your disk. Antwork uses Instagram's official publishing API, so there is no Meta developer app to create, no access token to generate and no public URL to host your media on.

Claude Code and Instagram, answered

Can Claude Code connect to Instagram?
Yes. Antwork is the connector: you add one URL to Claude Code, approve Instagram once over OAuth, and from then on Claude Code drafts, schedules and publishes to your account from the chat itself. No API key, no browser extension, no copying between tabs.
Is there a native Claude Code connector for Instagram?
Claude Code cannot publish to Instagram by itself, and neither Anthropic nor Meta ships an Instagram MCP server for it. Doing it yourself means a Meta developer app, an access token you refresh, and hosting every image at a public URL before Instagram will take it. Antwork does that part: one command, one approval on Instagram's screen, and the files you point Claude Code at go up as they are.
How do I connect Instagram to Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add antwork --transport http https://api.antwork.io/mcp, start Claude Code and type /mcp, then pick antwork and approve it in the browser. Ask Claude Code to connect Instagram: it returns a link to Instagram's own login screen, where you approve your Business or Creator account. Or install the Antwork plugin with /plugin marketplace add polynode-co/antwork-skills and /plugin install antwork-skills@antwork, which connects the server and adds the posting skills in one step.
Can Claude Code post an image from my project folder?
Yes. Name the file (for example ./assets/launch.jpg) and Claude Code uploads it to Antwork and attaches it to the draft; videos work the same way for Reels. You do not need to host the file anywhere first. Claude Code shows you the caption and the media before anything is published.
Can I connect a personal Instagram account?
No. Instagram only lets third-party apps publish to professional accounts, Business or Creator. Switching an account to Creator is free and done in Instagram's own settings, and it keeps your followers and posts.
Do I need a Meta developer app or an access token?
No. Antwork is the app: you approve it on Instagram's login screen and it publishes with the permissions you granted. There is no Meta app review, client secret or long-lived token for you to create or refresh.
How is this different from Zapier, n8n or an integration toolkit?
What drives the action. In a workflow builder, Claude Code is a node inside an automation you maintain. With Antwork, drafting, scheduling and publishing to Instagram are tools Claude Code operates directly in the conversation, and the platform's limits are enforced server-side rather than being whatever the flow happens to carry.
Do I need an API key to connect Claude Code?
No. Antwork connects over OAuth — you approve a consent screen in the browser and you are done. There is no key to generate or paste into a URL, which is how most social MCP servers handle it.
Do I need a paid account?
No. Your first two connected accounts are free forever, with unlimited workspaces and no monthly post cap, and there is no plan gate on MCP access.
Will Claude Code post without showing me first?
Not unless you ask it to. Drafting and publishing are two separate steps: the agent writes, shows you the draft, and only publishes when you confirm.
Does the writing sound like AI?
Antwork hands the agent that account's recent posts, along with how each performed, and the agent writes to match them. On Instagram that includes writing to the length the format rewards, up to 2,200 characters.
