The short answer

Can Claude post to X (Twitter)?

Yes, through a connector.

Claude can post to X (formerly Twitter) through Antwork, a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector. You add Antwork's server URL as a custom connector in Claude, sign in to Antwork, and approve X once on X's own OAuth screen. From then on Claude reads your recent posts on X, drafts new ones in that voice, counts them the way X does, and schedules or publishes them to your account from inside the conversation, through X's official API. There is no X developer account to apply for, no API key to paste and no browser extension driving your logged-in x.com.

  • Your own X accountPosts go out as you, through X's official API.
  • Text, images or videoEach post is fitted to X's character limit before it goes.
  • You approve every postDrafting and publishing are separate steps. Nothing goes out until you say so.

Before you post

What X (Twitter) accepts

Claude checks these before it drafts, so a post does not fail at publish time. They come from the same rules Antwork's publisher enforces.

An automation tool is the better fit when a post should be triggered by something outside the chat, like a new row in a spreadsheet. If you want to ask Claude and see the post, the connector is the shortest path.

Questions

Claude and X (Twitter), answered

Can Claude connect to X (Twitter)?
Yes. Antwork is the connector: you add one URL to Claude, approve X (Twitter) once over OAuth, and from then on Claude drafts, schedules and publishes to your account from the chat itself. No API key, no browser extension, no copying between tabs.
Is there a native Claude connector for X (Twitter)?
Claude does not post to X on its own, and Anthropic does not ship an X connector. Claude supports custom connectors over MCP, and Antwork is one built for publishing: you add it from Claude's connector settings and its tools appear like any other, with no developer account, no API key and no browser extension.
Can Claude post to X (Twitter)?
Yes, through a connector. With Antwork connected, Claude drafts the post in the conversation, shows it to you, and publishes it or schedules it for later once you approve. Nothing goes out until you ask for it.
Will Claude get the X character count right?
Yes, because Antwork checks it rather than Claude guessing. X weighs characters instead of counting them: links count as a fixed length however long they are, and characters outside the Latin range count double. Antwork counts the way X's server does, so a draft that fits is a draft that posts.
Can Claude post a thread on X?
Not as a thread. Antwork publishes each post on its own, up to X's 280-character limit. Claude can turn a long idea into several separate posts and schedule them one after another, but they will not be linked as replies to each other.
Is this an official Anthropic or X product?
No. Antwork is an independent product. It connects to Claude as a custom connector, the way Anthropic supports, and to X through X's official API with a token you approve on X's own consent screen. You can revoke it from X at any time.
How is this different from Zapier, n8n or an integration toolkit?
What drives the action. In a workflow builder, Claude is a node inside an automation you maintain. With Antwork, drafting, scheduling and publishing to X (Twitter) are tools Claude operates directly in the conversation, and the platform's limits are enforced server-side rather than being whatever the flow happens to carry.
Do I need an API key to connect Claude?
No. Antwork connects over OAuth — you approve a consent screen in the browser and you are done. There is no key to generate or paste into a URL, which is how most social MCP servers handle it.
Do I need a paid account?
No. Your first two connected accounts are free forever, with unlimited posts and workspaces, and there is no plan gate on MCP access.
Will Claude post without showing me first?
Not unless you ask it to. Drafting and publishing are two separate steps: the agent writes, renders the post card, and only publishes when you confirm.
Does the writing sound like AI?
Antwork hands the agent that account's recent posts, along with how each performed, and the agent writes to match them. On X (Twitter) that includes writing to the length the format rewards, up to 280 characters.
